This tour offers a diversity of landscape, of riding terrain, of wilderness and adventure with the added advantage of comfortable lodgings every night. The fact that you will be able to sleep in a comfortable bed at the end of an exciting day’s riding will not detract however from the adventure, nor from the fact that much of the time you will be riding through the middle of nowhere! You will ride over roads and tracks through beautiful deciduous and evergreen forests, over bridges and through streams, skirt lakes on a road blasted out of the rock face, climb to 1.380 mts over the Cordoba Pass to descend to Confluencia on the other side through a landscape that seems taken out of the Far West. During part of this tour you will ride the long gravel tracks in the vastness of the Patagonian steppe, a desolate, wild and alluring part of the world where wilderness still truly exists. On the last day you will wend your way along the China Muerta riverbed, China Muerta means Dead Chinese woman but we assure you you will not be meeting any such ghostly character! The ride however will be exciting as you circumnavigate boulders, skid through the sand, steer over bumps and wade through water. The entire tour is challenging but fun, an adrenaline trip that you are unlikely to forget!
As previously mentioned, you will sleep in a bed and under a roof. One night is spent in cabins on an estancia belonging to one of the first families to settle in the area, deep in the mountains by the beautiful Lake Filo Hua Hum. The remaining nights are spent in hotels which may not be of a the 5 star variety but all are comfortable and clean.
If you want to travel with a non biker and still get some riding in, then this is your tour. We can organize parallel activities for your travel companion and still spend three out of four nights together.
